Engineering-First Workflow

1. Input review

  • Provide 2D drawings and/or 3D models, material, thickness, plating or insulation, quantities, application, and target date.
  • We treat drawings as confidential and use them only for technical review.

2. DFM and process selection

  • We assess manufacturability: material and thickness, hole patterns, edge conditions, bend strategy, insulation and plating sequence, and assembly interfaces.
  • Based on the project, we may recommend stamping, blanking, forming, or alternative approaches. Final process selection is confirmed during review.

3. Prototypes and validation

  • Projects often begin with prototypes or validation batches to prove form, fit, function, and electrical/thermal performance.
  • Feedback loops refine the drawing for repeatable production.

4. Toward repeat production

  • As requirements stabilize, we align on production intent, QC checkpoints, and packaging. Production availability and tooling are confirmed per project.

DFM Considerations for Stamped and Formed Busbars

During engineering review we typically address:

  • Material and thickness choice relative to current density and temperature rise
  • Bend strategy: bend sequence, reliefs, and inside radii appropriate for the material
  • Hole and slot geometry for fasteners, torque, and electrical contact area
  • Edge quality, burr control, and deburring requirements
  • Plating, insulation, and masking plans, including post-forming considerations
  • Assembly interfaces and stack-up control for repeatable installation
  • Thermal paths, creepage/clearance, and compact packaging constraints
  • Electrical performance goals such as inductance and contact resistance

We provide manufacturability feedback specific to your drawing and application without prescribing generic tolerances.

Materials, Plating, and Insulation

  • Materials: copper and aluminum as specified on your drawing; grade and temper are confirmed during review.
  • Plating: tin, nickel, or silver plating per specification to support corrosion resistance, mating compatibility, and contact performance.
  • Insulation: heat-shrink, coatings, sleeves, or other methods to achieve spacing and safety requirements in compact assemblies.

The sequencing of stamping, forming, plating, and insulation is validated against your requirements to maintain dimensional consistency and surface quality.
